January 1, 2003 is the official start date for Knox County’s “Fit for Life” campaign. Sign up to participate in the campaign by downloading the commitment form OR pick up a form at any on of the sponsors locations. There is no cost to participate in the campaign. “Fit for Life” participants receive:
  •  Participant Card (earns discounts at participating local businesses)
  • Monthly tracking form — complete and turn in to enter monthly drawing for great prizes!
  • Discounts at participating local businesses
    • 15% discount off YMCA annual membership
    • 15% discount at The Center for Rehabilitation and Wellness at Knox Community Hospital

What is Fit for Life Knox County?

Fit for Life Knox County is a County-Wide Health and Fitness Campaign sponsored by the YMCA of Mount Vernon, Knox County Health Department and The Center for Rehabilitation and Wellness at Knox Community Hospital (similar to Columbus’ “Commit To Be Fit” drive)

 Fit for Life Knox County incorporates President Bush’s “Healthier US” guidelines which are:

  •  To get physically active every day
  • To eat healthfully
  • To get regular, preventative medical screenings, and
  • To avoid smoking, drugs and abuse of alcohol

What is the campaign objective?

To improve the overall health and fitness of Knox County residents by increasing awareness of health-related programs that exist in Knox County and the importance of developing life-long healthy habits.

 What are the campaign dates?

January 1 through December 31, 2003 and possibly ongoing based on the needs of our community.
